Tip of the Cap to Rogers Covers
I’m a big fan of Rogers' art department and circulation team. They really understand what works at newsstand, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the stuff they churn out.

The Maclean's tribute issue to Nelson Mandela is a case in point. They kept it simple, which is always a good idea when honouring fallen heroes.

Like their famous tribute issue to Trudeau, they chose a black and white image, face forward and smiling. Dignified and classic.

Another trend I’ve been following is the move to larger and bolder type. Check out this cover from MoneySense. They let it rip.
