Dine magazine to spawn Dine Travels
Dine magazine, originally an annual fall food, wine and lifestyle title, is expanding with the first spring edition of a spin-off called Dine Travels in 2014.

While Dine's international content often touches on travel from a culinary perspective, Dine Travels will focus on "the authenticity and uniqueness of travelling with a purpose," from B.C. hiking, to watching whales in Newfoundland and hanging with snow monkeys in Japan.

Publisher Sara Waxman said the two editions are editorially in step with each other. A trip to Thailand, for example, can yield both a story about local cuisine and another about adventure travel. "While many people that travel are interested in food, it's not the focus of everyone's travels," said Waxman.

Dine just released its seventh issue, available through the Globe and Mail and in select Toronto hotels, Air Canada and VIA Rail lounges. In 2014, the magazine will expand its presence across major Canadian cities. Adam Waxman, Sara's son and previously associate publisher, recently joined Dine Magazine Inc. as a partner.
