Publishers call on feds to adopt “Buy Canadian” advertising policy

“More than 85% of Canadian adults turn to newspaper content each week, and they trust our content more than social media and online searches,” said Benoit Chartier, President and Editor-in-Chief of Le Courrier de Saint-Hyacinthe. “According to a recent study, advertising in trustworthy environments leads to a 25% boost in brand rating. News publishers in aggregate are seen as 35% above the baseline level of trust across information environments.”
