Alberta Oil magazine strikes gold at KRW awards
Alberta Oil struck gold yesterday (or did gold strike oil?) at the Kenneth R. Wilson (KRW) Awards.

The Venture Publishing title got the nod for magazine of the year, up against Marketing and Retail News.

While Marketing didn't take the top prize, it definitely didn't go home empty-handed; Marketing won golds for best cover (Twitter) and best issue (RIM), leading all publications with four golds and two silvers.

Masthead sister publication Design Edge Canada was nominated for best art direction of a complete issue for its 2011 Regional Design Awards Annual, a category that was ultimately won by Barb Woolley and Miki Arai for Precedent (the pair also won silver in the same category for their work on UTSC Commons).

Website of the year honours went to finance-investissement.com.

Les Affaires won three golds, followed by CAmagazine with two golds and three silvers, OHS Canada with two golds and two silvers and Precedent with one gold and two silvers.
