The Canadian Society of Magazine Editors (CSME) announced the 2012 Editors' Choice Award winners on Wednesday, June 6, at a gala dinner held during the MagNet conference in Toronto.
Spacing was one of the big winners of the night, earning itself the awards for Best Web Editorial of the Year (more than 150,000 unique visitors), Best Blog of the Year and Best Front of Book.

Outdoor Canada also had a successful evening, for the second year in a row taking home the awards for Best Medium-Size Consumer Magazine of the Year and Editor of the Year for editor Patrick Walsh, who said, "It's so nice to be recognized for this — and when you recognize me, you're recognizing all the people who work on
Outdoor Canada and everyone at Cottage Life Media. Thank you very much."
This Magazine took top honours in the small-circulation category for the third year in a row, while
Canadian Living won in the large-circulation category.
Today’s Trucking got the nod as the Trade Magazine of the Year. The award for Best Web Editorial (less than 150,000 unique visitors) went to
Canadian Art and this year’s honour for the Jim Cormier Award for Display Writing was taken by
Explore.
Honourable Mentions were also announced. They include:
Explore and
Spacing (small circ category);
Best Healh and
Canadian Home Workshop (medium circ category);
Western Living (large circ category); and
CMA Magazine and
Renovation Contractor (trade category).
Prior to the awards ceremony, Jennifer Keltner, the executive editor of the Better Homes and Gardens Crafts Group, addressed the room about the value of constancy in an ever-changing environment in a keynote talk entitled “I Like You. You’re Perfect. Now Change.”
