New benefits announced for Canadian Online Publishing Awards
The Canadian Online Publishing Awards, produced by Masthead, has announced a new series of benefits for entrants in this year's program.

By arrangement with Access Intelligence, LLC of Connecticut, all early-bird entrants in the COPAs will be automatically entered into a draw to win one of two full conference passes to the Folio Show in New York City, Oct. 29-31, 2012.

The Folio Show is one of the premier magazine publishing events in the world, offering more than 50 sessions, keynotes, and an innovation zone, covering all aspects of publishing. Speakers from last year's show hailed from Time Inc., Mashable, Taunton Press, Sports Illustrated, The Atlantic and dozens of other leading media brands.

Two conference passes will be given away, each with a $1,300 value, to COPA entrants meeting the June 1 early-bird deadline.

Mobile App Report: Published by min Press, the Mobile App Report offers practical advice on how to price and sell apps, a thorough overview of app best practices and how to seize potential revenue both in paid subscribers and advertisers in this booming content model. min Training Webinars: This popular webinar series offers valuable insights from industry experts on both digital and print publishing issues. Recent topics have included Leveraging Social Networks, Generating Tablet Revenue Plans, What Agencies Want, and Making Freemiums Pay. Webinar leaders come from top media brands including Harvard Business Review, Future Publishing, Consumer Union, Shape Magazine, Tumblr, Parenting and many others. Six webinar passes, each worth $329, will be given away.

The COPAs, now in its fourth year, celebrate editorial and design excellence in digital journalism. The program is divided into three divisions:
  • Blue Division: Digital journalism from business-to-business, professional association, farm, and scholarly publishers
  • Red Division: Digital journalism from consumer, custom, religious, and public association publishers
  • Green Division: Digital journalism from newspapers and broadcasters
Awards are presented in 15 categories, covering web, tablet, app and e-newsletter platforms. A new category, Data Visualization, has been added for the 2012 awards.

 
In 2012, all winners, finalists and sponsors will be also published in the new 2012 COPA Yearbook: The Who’s Who of Digital Publishing in Canada. This beautifully printed book will be distributed to all attendees of the 2012 COPA Awards event in Toronto in October (price included in awards event ticket), and also available for order.
