KRW Awards seeking entries; shares evening with NMA
Entries are being sought for this year's installment of the Kenneth R. Wilson Awards (KRW) at the Carlu in Toronto on June 7.

The annual trade magazine competition, co-produced by the Canadian Business Press and Magazines Canada, is accepting submissions in 22 categories for gold and silver awards. Categories include magazine of the year, best cover, best editorial, best photograph, best illustration, and more.

The earlybird deadline for entries is Jan. 27, with a final deadline of Feb. 3.

While the KRWs are traditionally presented on a separate evening from the National Magazine Awards (NMA) for consumer magazines, this year they both fall on Thursday, June 7.

A spokesperson at the National Magazine Awards said the ticketing system is still being worked out, however there may be one ticket created for all events that evening along with tickets for individual events.

While the exact times of the awards galas are also being worked out, the events will not overlap and there will likely be one industry reception for KRW and NMA attendees, said the spokesperson. KRW remains an independent event from NMA.

Masthead's sister site, DesignEdgeCanada.com, won best website at last year's KRW gala.

Check the websites for the NMA or KRW regularly for updates on tickets and scheduling.
