Chatelaine publishes financial help book
Published by John Wiley & Sons Canada Ltd. and written by money columnist Kira Vermond, Chatelaine has released Earn, Spend, Save. The 270-page book retails for $21.95 and was written because the team at Chatelaine knew financial information is important for its readers and Canadian women, says marketing director Marnie Peters. “The idea of being intimidated by money and having a desire to learn more,” she says. “That fueled our desire to share more information than we could in the length of the magazine.”

The book offers advice for women on how to change their relationship with money along with a six-month plan for managing their cash.

Peters says that although she can’t comment on what percentage of the cover price the magazine or the writer is making Chatelaine is in a partnership with Wiley and will release a cookbook with the company later this year. “Chatelaine has published several cookbooks in the past but publishing isn’t something we have done for awhile,” she says. “We are looking at different ways to deliver compelling content to our readers.”

Chatelaine
is published 13 times a year by Rogers Publishing and has a paid circulation of 553,000.
