Masthead has learned that Coatings magazine, a Rogers Publishing business publication which covers paint, coatings and industrial finishings is being closed and turned into two new products. The new magazines, Blend and Topcoat will be launched in 2010. "This segmentation reflects the evolution of the coatings marketplace and better serves both our readers and customers," said Suneel Khanna, senior director of communications for Rogers Consumer Publishing in an e-mail. "It also allows us to utilize the scale of all our Industrial properties and platforms. This strategy provides better market coverage."

Coatings magazine was established in 1979 and was published seven times a year. Khanna said head count at the magazine was not affected by this change.
