Chef & Grocer magazine goes bilingual and expands reach
A Quebec-based food industry magazine originally aimed at a French audience has expanded its reach to the rest of Canada.

Chef & Grocer was published for 29 years as Le Chef & L'Epicier, but this year has gone bilingual in order to reach English Canada. In the move the circulation has increased from 16,000 to 45,000, according to Raphaëlle Mercier-Tardif, the magazine's production assistant.

"Our issues are fully bilingual, meaning we don't have one per language, but the translations are side by side in an article," he said.

According to the magazine's media kit, the magazine has more than 20,000 circulation in Quebec alone including industry subscriptions, while also reaching restaurants, hotels, hospitals, schools, and grocery stores across Canada.

The magazine celebrates 30 years in 2012.
