Vancouver, Alberta Oil take top honours in WMAs
Earlier this month, Alberta Oil won Magazine of the Year at the K.R.W. Awards in Toronto (for the second time in three years).
On the consumer side, TC Media's Vancouver magazine won for Consumer Magazine of the Year in western Canada. The city magazine took top spot in seven other categories as well, leading the pack of WMA award winners.
Vancouver was followed closely by Eighteen Bridges, the non-profit "Canadian creative journalism magazine" based in Edmonton (and also given production support from Venture Publishing), with six top awards.
Veteran west coast magazine writer Sean Rossiter was honoured with the WMA's Lifetime Achievement Award.
Other winners at the Western Mag Awards this year were:

2012 is the new 1993.
Also want to correct one thing from the story. This was the second time in three years Alberta Oil has won the KRWs Magazine of the Year category, not the second year in a row. We were a finalist in 2011, but lost out to Up Here Business. Mary probably didn't like their cover last year either.
Peace,
