People in Print: News at Kenilworth Media, Chatelaine, Canadian Business and more
Kenilworth Media Inc. publisher and CEO Ellen Kral has been named one of Canada’s Top Women Entrepreneurs 2010 by PROFIT magazine. Kral began at Kenilworth in 1989 as an account manager, working her way up to sales manager and eventually publisher and CEO.

The PROFIT W100 celebrates female entrepreneurs and their contributions to the Canadian economy. Entrants are judged based on a combination of the size, growth rate and profitability of their business.

News at Canadian Business where James Cowan has been promoted to deputy editor and Joanna Pachner to editor at large. Cowan previously worked as senior writer at the magazine, while Pachner was a contributing editor.

Megan Griffith-Greene has left her position as chief of research at Chatelaine for one as associate producer at CBC’s Marketplace. Griffith-Greene was with Chatelaine for over three years and has also worked with Shameless magazine.

Jennifer Croll has been hired as the new editor in chief of The Block magazine. Croll has worked as associate editor with the Vancouver-based fashion magazine for five years. James Worthington DeMolet has been hired as the magazine’s new creative director, working previously with many U.S. publications, including GQ and Vogue.

Croll and DeMolet takeover from the previous editor in chief, Susan Locht and creative director Kris Blizzard who left the magazine due to changes in the creative direction of the book, says publisher Evan Ho.
