A new category has been added to the National Magazine Awards for 2009. On June 5, an award will be granted for Best Single Issue of a magazine.

This prize is awarded to the magazine that has published the best single issue of the year in terms of the overall quality and originality of the content and its relevance to the intended readers. Editors must include a cover letter to summarize the issue’s goals (max 300 words).
 
This award is intended to reward collaboration by the entire team of magazine writers, editors, artists, art directors and publishers in producing their best issue of the year. Please read the NMAF’s Rules & Eligibility to determine if your magazine is eligible for this award.

The submissions process for the NMAs begins Dec. 1.
