Bill Kaluski of CDS Global announces retirement

One of the Canadian magazine industry’s most-respected veterans has announced he will retire. Bill Kaluski, president and CEO of CDS Global (formerly Indas Ltd.), Canada’s largest fulfillment house, will close the book on his career Dec. 15.

Kaluski is well known for his contributions to the industry over the years as both a volunteer and a financial sponsor. “It seems whenever you needed a sponsor, Bill was there,” says Patrick Walsh, editor of Outdoor Canada, president of the National Magazine Awards Foundation and former Masthead editor. To give just one example, the Indas/CDS logo has been a back-page staple in Masthead for several years. His sponsorship of the wine reception at the NMAs was also much-appreciated.

In 2007, he won a special award handed out by the Circulation Management Association of Canada, “Awarded for the exceptional ongoing support of the CMC and the publishing industry as a whole.”

On the business side, Kaluski led the merger of Indas Ltd. into CDS Global in 2003 and the eventual rebranding under the global corporate name.

We hope to get an interview with Kaluski sometime this week.
