St. Joseph Media's Douglas Knight appointed to the Order of Canada
 
St. Joseph Media president, Douglas Knight, has been appointed to the Order of Canada as a Member (C.M.), “for his service to the arts community and for his leadership as a media publisher.”

Knight is the chair of the Governor General’s performing arts Awards Foundation, chair of Magazines Canada, and vice-chair of the Writer’s Trust of Canada.

Among its many publications, St. Joseph is home to Toronto Life, Fashion, Canadian Family, Quill and Quire, and the recently launched 1879 By Birks.

His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada announced 100 new appointments to the Order of Canada on July 1. The Order of Canada is one of the country’s highest honours, and was established in 1967, to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.

Knight joins a group of over 6000 people, who have been invested into the order.
