Chatelaine names new editor-in-chief

Chatelaine magazine has promoted Lianne George, its editorial director, to the position of editor-in-chief.

"I've been a Chatelaine reader for as long as I can remember. No other publication has such a rich tradition of chronicling the lives of Canadian women – their families, careers, challenges, and of course, the eternal question of what's for dinner," George said. "The opportunity to help reimagine Chatelaine across multiple platforms for a new generation of readers is a great honour."

George has been with the women’s lifestyle magazine since 2014, and has over 15 years of experience in the industry. In 2004, she was the associate editor at Maclean’s, and was promoted to senior editor a year later. She held the position of deputy editor of Canadian Business in 2009 and helped launch The Grid in 2010. George has also worked for Saturday Night magazine, ELLE Canada and the National Post.

George will be replacing Karine Ewart who was appointed in January, last year.

Chatelaine is a Rogers Communications publication.
