Business media leaders gathering at new summit
A Business Media Leadership Summit for senior executives in the business media sector will be held next month at the Kingbridge Conference Centre & Institute north of Toronto.
The event, held Feb. 20 and 21, is a collaborative effort from the Alliance for Audited Media, EquiSoft, and the Business Media Advisory Group of Magazines Canada. It will address issues facing Canada's business media space and explore opportunities for growth.
"The ultimate goal is to facilitate the development of strong continuing ties and collaborative strategies at the top of a media space that contributes immensely to the success of Canada's business community," reads a Magazines Canada release.
Lead presenters will be Ken Wong, Queen's University distinguished Professor of Marketing, and Frank Anton, vice chair of Washington-based Hanley Wood LLC. Acting as facilitator will be D.B. Scott, president of Impresa Communications.
Unlike the public Business Media Summits held in 2009 and 2010, the Business Media Leadership Summit will host a more focused group of attendees.
"It is a small group of thought-leaders coming together in a workshop environment," said Brianne DiAngelo, Magazines Canada communications manager. Space is limited and fully booked as of this morning, she said.
Whether this will be a reoccurring event has not yet been decided, DiAngelo said.
