People in Publishing: Head of TC Media stepping down
Natalie Larivière, President of TC Media, is stepping down from her position to pursue "new professional challenges", said the company. She will officially be gone from her post by June 29, while she will work with the team periodically over the summer to "ensure the smooth transition of certain projects". François Olivier, President and CEO of Transcontinental, will take over as interim head of TC Media.
Larivière became president of TC Media (then Transcontinental Media) in August 2006. "Over the past six years, Natalie has piloted numerous projects that have enhanced the TC Media offering by creating magazines, integrating digital platforms, producing TV content and developing interactive marketing solutions for advertisers and consumers," noted Olivier.
Meanwhile at TC Media, Jennifer Fields has been appointed as director of business development for the digital solutions group in Toronto. Prior to joining TC Media, Fields worked at GLAM Media as a member of the senior management team and before that at Yahoo! Canada as its national sales and integrated sales solutions manager. She also has a background at Transcontinental, where she sold integrated web/print solutions in 2005-2006.
Tim Peel is returning as the vice president of CCAB, the Canadian arm of BPA Worldwide, and is set to resume his duties May 15. He most recently served as director of membership and communications at Advertising Standards Canada, and served as vice president of CCAB from 2008 to early 2011. Before that, he was CCAB's general manager since 2004 and also served in the roles of audit manager and internal audit supervisor.
The Walrus Foundation (publisher of The Walrus magazine) has added Nic Boshart in a newly-created position of manager of digital initiatives. He will join Matt MacKinnon (online editor, designer and director of digital content) and will be responsible for the business aspects and development of digital platforms and projects. Boshart is currently the manager of technology at eBOUND Canada and is co-founder and coordinating editor of Invisible Publishing. His post begins in mid-May.
