Magazines Canada launches second issue of publishing resource
Magazines Canada has released the second issue of Canadian Magazines Canadiens, which it calls "the definitive resource for publishing professionals."

The biannual, bilingual publication provides "a global take on the innovations that drive today’s publishing business and inspire future growth," according to the association's release.

This issue features the future of branding: how three Canadian magazines maximize brand impact through their digital extensions; in-depth profiles of home-grown successes: Taps, Eighteen Bridges and Photo Life; insights from experts including St. Joseph Media’s Kim Latreille, New York’s former Director of Design and User Experience, Ian Adelman, and Samir 'Mr. Magazine' Husni from the University of Mississippi; cross-Canada industry developments and regional campaigns; and the latest trends from the greening of magazines to daily-deal coupons to QR codes.

Contributors include former editor-in-chief of Chatelaine, Kim Pittaway; former publisher of Canadian Business, Deborah Rosser; award-winning designer Ingrid Paulson; as well as veteran writers Kevin Brooker, Judith Lussier, Craille Maguire Gillies and Lesley Young.

The magazine, supported by government funding from the Ontario Media Development Corporation, has an international audience that includes consumer and B2B publishers, service providers and industry associations across 52 countries, according to Magazines Canada. The magazine will be available in print ($5.95 each) through the Magazines Canada website where a digital edition is also available.
