Walrus Foundation and Stella Artois launch humour website
The Walrus Foundation and Stella Artois have teamed up to offer a "new witty online community" featuring big names in the comedy world.

The new site, www.thewalruslaughs.com, launched on Canada Day and features contributions from The Walrus magazine, as well as "exclusive written and performed commissions" from actor Gordon Pinsent, Robin Duke, Kenny Robinson, playwright David Yee, comedian Mike Bullard, Second City alumnus Bruce Pirrie and others.

The Walrus Laughs is curated by comedy producer Perry Rosemond (of Royal Canadian Air Farce fame) along with Walrus online editor Matthew McKinnon. Visitors to the site can vote on the commissioned works, magazine pieces and reader submissions, and the overall favourites will be highlighted on the site.

In addition, site members will receive a bi-weekly newsletter and there will be contests sponsored by Stella Artois and The Walrus. There are plans for a related public stage show on May 24, 2012 at John Labatt Hall in Toronto, featuring site contributors.
