People in Publishing: Changes at Transcontinental, Maisonneuve, Toronto Life and more
Transcontinental Media has announced the appointment of Andrew Osmak to the position of vice president, business development in the new media and digital solutions group. Osmak most recently worked at Lavalife as senior vice president, business development and new ventures.

Maisonneuve editor in chief Carmine Starnino has left the title after nine years in the position for a job as senior editor at Reader’s Digest. Starnino co-founded Maisonneuve with Derek Webster in 2002 and has been working as a part-time editor with Reader's Digest for the last year.

Taking over as EIC at Maisonneuve is Drew Nelles who has been with the title since 2009. Madeline Coleman, who comes to Maisonneuve from Concordia's The Link, is stepping in as associate editor.

Michelle Higgins is joining St. Joseph Media-published Toronto Life as copy editor. Higgins most recently worked at The Mark News.

Laurel Hilton-Devitt has joined the Rogers Publishing business group of magazines, which includes Maclean’s, Canadian Business, PROFIT and MoneySense as marketing and events coordinator. Hilton-Devitt interned with Flare Magazine in 2009 and most recently held a position as CBC Radio host Jian Ghomeshi’s assistant for his company, Wonderboy Entertainment.
