New online magazine, Dabble to cover design, travel and food
Designer and Chatelaine’s new contributing design editor Kimberly Seldon has launched Dabble, an online magazine covering design, food and travel.

The bi-monthly online magazine is free to subscribers, said Seldon and advertising for the title is being handled by Toronto-based BBS Media. A one-time inside back cover ad in the magazine is listed at $4,500. “I am not trying to put print magazines out of business,” she said. “But there is something instantly gratifying when you are reading an online magazine and can click on a picture and go straight to the source of where to buy the product.”

Seldon said she doesn’t have any initial goals for unique subscribers to the magazine, or its weekly newsletter because Dabble is the first Canadian online title in the category. “There are a couple U.S.-based titles, like Lonny Mag but even that has a heavy reliance on fashion,” she said. She does, however hope to grow the profile of both the magazine and its contributors, which are 90% Canadian.

The launch issue of Dabble Magazine is available at Dabblemag.com and is powered by Issuu.
