Briarpatch announces shift in job descriptions at magazine
Contemporary issues magazine Briarpatch has announced a shift in job descriptions following the departure of editor David Oswald Mitchell. The editor and publisher positions will now be shared between former Briarpatch publisher Shayna Stock and former associate editor Valerie Zink.

In a workplace arrangement known as balanced job complexes, empowering and creative tasks will be shared along with more mundane administrative tasks, according to a press release. “We used to have two distinct positions which worked closely together because of our small workspace so the positions were already flexible,” says Stock. “These changes will see both jobs encompass all creative and administrative tasks.” Stock and Zink will alternate editing duties each issue of the bi-monthly published magazine, doing publishing and administrative duties in between.

Briarpatch is published six times a year by Briarpatch Incorporated, an independent non-profit organization overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors.
