Magazines Canada creates ad/edit guideline task force
Magazines Canada has created a taskforce of about a dozen consumer and B2B industry members to review its Advertising-Editorial guidelines. The task force, headed up by Outdoor Canada editor Patrick Walsh and ReNew Canada publisher Todd Latham will revisit the guidelines originally set-out in 2006, says Magazines Canada CEO Mark Jamison.
Adding guidelines for B2B titles and looking at changes in the advertising and editorial industry since 2006 are the main goals behind the taskforce, says Jamison. “Initial recommendations from the taskforce will be presented to the board at the meeting in November,” says Jamison. “We will be engaging the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors as we did last time. There is no real deadline for the final guidelines, the issue is getting it right.”
