Magazines Canada opens doors to trade titles, mags not printed in Canada

Magazines Canada members voted in two significant bylaw-changes at the association's annual general meeting, which took place early yesterday morning. The first change opens membership to trade magazines, a move that comes in the wake of Rogers Publishing Limited's decision to leave the Canadian Business Press and lobby for b-to-b space within MC.

Also newly welcome in MC are magazines not printed in Canada. According to CEO Mark Jamison, removing this barrier will enable MC to one day allow online-only publications as members, though the association has no current plans to actively to seek them out.
