Two new appointments at St. Joseph Media
Noreen Flanagan has been appointed as the editor-in-chief of FASHION magazine. Flanagan will oversee content and brand strategy across all brand platforms, print, digital, social, video and branded events.
Prior to this appointment, Flanagan was with ELLE Canada for 15 years—spending her last six years as the publications’ editor-in-chief.
Recently Flanagan and her team were named Best Magazine, medium circulation, by the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors (CSME). She was also named the 2016 CSME Editor of the Year. She launched ELLE's first-ever live cover shoot, fist drone fashion shoot and first cover, shot in virtual reality. She frequently speaks at colleges and universities, and has appeared on etalk, CBC TV and radio, BNN, Celebrity Style Story and Entertainment Tonight.
Kawalit also joins St. Joseph from ELLE Canada. As digital director he helped the editorial team produce, distribute and measure women’s lifestyle content. With over 10 years experience, he has conceptualized and implemented comprehensive online marketing programs for Microsoft, eBay, BMO and Capital One.
“We are delighted to welcome Noreen and Steven to St. Joseph Media," Douglas Knight, president of St Joseph Media, said. "They will be integral to the transformation of our women’s brands, leveraging the insights and growth pioneered by Strategic Content Labs.”
Both Kawalit and Flanagan will start with the company on Aug.8., and will report to vp and group publisher Jacqueline Loch.
