TNQ celebrates 35&5
 TNQ's 35&5 issue
The New Quarterly (TNQ) is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Founded in 1981, the literary magazine focuses on emerging writers, some of which have been on the shortlists of the Scotiabank Giller, Griffin Poetry, Commonwealth Writers’, Journey, and the Writers’ Trust Fiction prizes.

TNQ is also hosting its fifth annual Wild Writers Festival, a literary celebration featuring workshops and panel discussions on various topics and genres including press publishing, fiction and poetry. Wild Writers takes place from November 4 to 6.

“35&5 is our way to salute thirty-five years of The New Quarterly and five years of the Wild Writers Festival,” TNQ editor Pamela Mulloy said. “I also look forward to identifying new, diverse literary voices that we can support.”

The Waterloo-based magazine has won ten gold and seven silver medals and had 31 honourable mentions in the 17 years that it has participated in the National Magazine Awards. Congratulations to The New Quarterly!
