The Ontario Arts Council is searching for a new literature officer as John Degen is moving to become the executive director of The Writers Union of Canada. The literature officer provides support to literary and cultural magazines.

Jessica Ross has been appointed to the position of Tablet Publishing Manager in TC Media's Toronto office. Ross will lead a tablet publishing initiative across TC Media's English and French language consumer magazines. Her former roles included serving as executive editor of Homemakers magazine.

Lisa Tant is moving on from Hello! Canada magazine (Rogers) to serve as vice-president, fashion editor at Holt Renfrew. Tant was also former editor-in-chief of Flare magazine.

Reno & Decor Magazine, from HOMES Publishing Group, has a newly-appointed art director in Emilie Desrochers and a new editor, Glen Peloso. The magazine has assembled an "all-star" editorial team which is locked in for 2013.

Omar Mouallem
has left a four-plus year post as associate editor at Avenue Edmonton magazine to take on a freelance career.

BPA Worldwide has added Larry LaPorta, general manager of Beiersdorf Canada, to its board of directors. He has extensive experience in marketing, market research and strategic planning. He has previously served with McCann Erickson, Kraft Foods, and Revlon.
