MediaFinder reports three launches, two closures for first half of 2015
According to MediaFinder, in the first half of 2015 there were 60 magazine launches and 23 magazine closures in the U.S. Closures are down in comparison to the first six months of 2014, when there were 30 closures. There were 93 magazines launched during that period.
In the U.S. new launches included Smithsonian Journey, Organic Life, and Adventure Outdoors. Among the 23 magazine closures were Lucky and Nylon.
In Canada there were three, launches, including Bento Box Magazine, and two closures, including Backbone.
MediaFinder is an online database for U.S. and Canadian periodicals, with information on 77,000 magazines, journals, newspapers, newsletters, directories, and catalogues.
