L’Acadie Nouvelle reduces printed editions
 
 New Brunswick’s only independent French-language daily newspaper is scaling back its print editions, marking an end to L’Acadie Nouvelle being the province’s only newspaper to publish five times a week. It will now publish two printed editions weekly, said CEO and Publisher Francis Sonier. The Caraquet-based newspaper previously available Tuesday to Saturday, will now appear in print only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. About 6,000 subscribe to its printed editions.
The decision was announced to readers early in July and comes after parent company Postmedia ceased its printing operations at the Times and Transcript in Moncton, NB, which also prints l’Acadie Nouvelle. Sonier added that the decision to move printing operations out of the province to Halifax, Nova Scotia, made it impossible to offer a daily newspaper with the most up-to-date news. L’Acad
