Citing financial viability, owner and publisher Postmedia has announced that L’Étoile, based in Moncton, and Infoweekend, which served northwest New Brunswick, have been closed. Both weekly newspapers were published by Irving-owned Brunswick News until 2022, when they were sold to Postmedia. The closures follow the July 2, 2026, final edition of the Miramichi Leader, also owned by Postmedia, and coincide with a reduction in print editions at Acadie Nouvelle, an independent French-language newspaper.
