The Grid magazine earns a printing award
TORONTO—Metroland Media Group has earned a top award for its printing of The Grid, a free weekly magazine, in the 2012 Printing Industries of America Web Offset Association (WOA) awards.

The Grid, formerly Eye Weekly, is printed at Torstar Printing Group's Metroland Tempo plant in North York. Metroland received the award in the WOA contest's 'non-daily newspaper complete edition printed on newsprint' category, noted a Torstar Printing Group director.

The Grid was also recently recognized for its looks in the 33rd annual Best of Newspaper Design (SND), an international competition. Also named in the SND contest was the National Post, a national daily newspaper printed at the Toronto Star Press Centre in Vaughan.

First place winners in the WOA competition receive complimentary registration for the June 2012 Offset & Beyond Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, along with a free night at a hotel.

While the PIA website has not been updated as of today to reflect the most recent WOA award winners, last year's winners can be viewed here.
