Steve Maich has been named publisher and editor-in-chief of the new Rogers Sportsnet magazine launching in late September. Most recently, Maich was group publisher of Rogers' consumer business magazines (Canadian Business, Profit, and MoneySense). Maich joins a growing list of veteran staff for Sportsnet, including Tuppie Carnie, who will serve as consumer marketing manager after a role as director of circulation for CCMC (SCOREGolf magazine). Carnie is president of Circulation Management Association of Canada (CMC).

Melony Ward is no longer publisher of Canadian Art magazine. Ann Webb is now the interim publisher, as well as chief executive officer and executive director.

MediaCom, providing media planning and buying, has hired Matt Di Paola as chief strategy and innovation officer. Di Paola was last senior vice president of Proximity Canada.

Nancy Parker has taken over the job of circulation manager at Quarto Communications in Toronto (Cottage Life, Explore, Outdoor Canada, Canadian Home Workshop) from Heather Maxwell-Tufford. Parker was previously account executive with Disticor Distribution Services. Maxwell-Tufford, meanwhile, has joined Chatelaine as consumer marketing manager.
