New art director for Toronto Life
Christine Dewairy is the new art director for Toronto Life.
Dewairy brings experience to her new position. In 2005 she became the art director of Maclean’s and "was responsible for its impressive redesign", noted Karen Cleveland, senior director of marketing and communications for St. Joseph Media.
In 2009, in addition to her role at Maclean’s, she was promoted to art director of Canadian Business, MoneySense and Profit (all Rogers publications), added Cleveland, who noted Dewairy began her career more than a decade ago at the weekly magazine Saturday Night and "brings tremendously valuable experience to the role".
Dewairy's position at Toronto Life begins July 11.
She replaces former Toronto Life art director Jessica Rose, who recently left the magazine to head to London, England. Rose was nominated for her work on the magazine's August 2010 edition at the recent National Magazine Awards.

That said, this is definitely a step in the right direction for Toronto Life. Now, it needs to address its other problems.
