Canadian Newsstand Awards finalists announced
Thirty-five magazines, ranging from the small-circulation title This Magazine to extra-large-circulation Hello! Canada, have been named finalists for the eighth annual Canadian Newsstand Awards/Grand prix d’excellence en kiosque. Click here to view the full list and gallery of finalists.
The winners will be announced at a special reception November 1 at the Spoke Club in Toronto starting at 5 p.m.
Well-known circulator Scott Bullock, owner of the Circ3 consulting agency and a former executive at such firms as Coast to Coast Newsstand Services, CDS Global,
Toronto Life and others, has been named Newsstand Marketer of the Year and will be honoured at the event.
Winning magazines in most categories receive part of the expanded $18,500 credits towards promotional programs at newsstands owned by HDS Retail. All finalists will be presented certificates at the reception.
Also new at the 2010 Canadian Newsstand Awards is a category for Special Interest Publications and New Magazine Launches as well as designations for Gold, Silver and Bronze in all circulation categories.
The November 1 awards event is jointly produced by Masthead and the CMC Circulation Management Association of Canada. It will be preceded by a CMC newsstand seminar; stay tuned for details.
