Canadian Lawyer awarded

Canadian Lawyer has won a Jesse H. Neal Award in the Best Single Article category for publications with revenue up to $3 million.

Editorial director Gail Cohen, writer Lisa Gregoire and art director Bill Hunter were celebrated for their work on the article “War of the Words,” which appeared in the March 2009 issue. The story is about two lawyers on opposite ends of the free speech debate.

Canadian Lawyer was also a finalist in the Best Integrated Package category for its October 2009 “Report on Diversity,” a series that integrated print, video and other exclusive online content.

The Jesse H. Neal Awards were established by the American Business Media (ABM) in 1955 to recognize excellence in business media publications. Founded in 1906, ABM represents about 300 member companies that reach more than 100 million professionals globally.

The award was presented at ABM’s 56th annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards ceremony in New York City, on March 11.

Canadian Lawyer is published 11 times per year by CLB Media, with a circulation of 27,500.
