Womens Post publisher running for Mayor of Toronto
Women’s Post Publisher Sarah Whatmough-Thomson announced Tuesday that she is throwing her hat in the ring as a candidate for mayor of Toronto.
Thomson says her business and media experience has prepared her for the role. “I have the skills to go into a crisis and turn things around,” she says. “Right now Toronto is in a crisis and the best thing I could do for the city right now is give my time and my skill.”
The bi-weekly published Women’s Post was started by Thomson eight years ago and has a controlled circulation of 91,000. During the campaign, Thomson will be stepping down and a new publisher will be trained from within the company, she says.
