Magazine shipper acquires Mississauga logistics company
Oakville-based ASL Distribution Services Limited has acquired the assets of Professional Distribution Services (PDS), a division of Drive Products Income Fund.

ASL has been an important supplier in the magazine newsstand channel for decades. President Cole Dolny said PDS fits well into the company’s plan to acquire a quality company that can offer its customers something extra. “We have been keeping an eye out and making sure we were watching our controlled growth,” he said. “We thought it was an opportune time to look in this market which is so fragmented for an acquisition.”

The acquisition of PDS allows ASL the opportunity to movie into e-commerce and also adds a large Buffalo warehouse to its company, said Dolny. “They have great customers and quality employees,” he said. “I think it is going to be a great compliment to ASL.”

ASL Distribution Services is an asset-based third party logistics provider. It has warehouses in Oakville, Ont., Winnipeg, Man. And Buffalo, N.Y.
