Fit Parent ups circulation for second issue
With just one issue under its publishing belt, Fit Parent has decided to increase its circulation. The bimonthly title will be distributing additional 20,000 copies of its summer edition in TTC and GO stations. The free copies are expected to arrive before the end of the week. Fit Parent will still be dropped off at various retail stores nationally, 90,000 of which are available at 450 Loblaw locations.

Publisher Craig Knight cites greater interest in the magazine as the reason behind putting out more copies. Though Fit Parent is not audited by the PMB, Loblaw tracks the magazine’s performance. Knight expects that the TTC and GO can also provide him numbers for the summer issue. If all goes well, he plans to circulate more copies in September and perhaps join the PMB by the New Year.

He hopes the increase will reach a wider audience beyond Loblaw shoppers. The publisher thinks Fit Parent can also fill in a gap at the newsstands of GTA’s public transportations. Knight says, “We took a look at some of the titles that are on Gateway right now and there doesn’t seem to be anything that’s targeting the particular niche that we have.”
