Digital has now become more entrenched in today’s society and the COPAs is riding this wave with this year’s entries. The industry is also going through a reset as ad tech companies business practices are now being scrutinized more than ever and being challenged by governments worldwide.

What can been seen as positive step for the digital publishing industry in Canada the 2021 COPAs has seen a bumper crop of entries.

The COPAs were able to grow its national footprint in 2021 as 25% of the entries came from new companies, even though there was a drop in the submissions from schools in the Academic category due to the pandemic. Martin Seto, Producer of the COPAs states:

“This level of industry activity has not been seen since 2013 at the tail end of the Dot.com 2.0 boom when apps, mobile and tablets were all the rage.”

This years crop is now being judged by a panel of 94 judges with the finalists to be announced on December 1, 2021 at 12 PM EST.
