Rogers replica apps reach download landmark
Rogers Media has hit one million downloads of tablet replica apps for its  consumer magazines. Each publication is available on iPad, Android and Blackberry devices.

"The last few years have seen revolutionary change, innovation and digital growth within the publishing industry," said Ryan Trotman, digital publisher for Rogers Digital Media, in a statement. "From the start of this digital evolution, we have worked to deliver our premium branded content to our audiences on their preferred platform."

Maclean's was first out the gate with its tablet edition launch in December 2010. Rogers now has 22 publications on tablet, including Chatelaine, Sportsnet, Flare, Hello! Canada and several b2b titles, and boasts 1.3 million unduplicated unique visitors per month to its websites.

The company's embrace of digital also includes ebooks and standalone apps (whose downloads are not included in the one million measurement), like Chatelaine's 10-Minute Fitness app. According to Rogers, that application reached No. 1 in the health and fitness category in 31 countries and No. 14 overall in Canada on the iTunes chart.
