Rogers fills group publisher ranks
Sandra Parente, most recently publisher of MoneySense and formerly general manager of corporate sales, is now group publisher of Rogers' current affairs stable, including Maclean's and Sportsnet.
Ian Portsmouth, who heads Canadian Business and its Profit-branded section and projects, will fill Parente's shoes at MoneySense. As such, Portsmouth is now group publisher of business titles.
Sophie Banford is vacating her role at TVA as publisher of Clin d’Oeil and Moi & Cie to become group publisher of Rogers' Quebec-based women's publications, overseeing LouLou and Chȃtelaine. She reports to executive publisher Lorraine Hoefler.
The appointments complete Rogers' move to a group publishing model. Recently, the company expanded Flare publisher Melissa Ahlstrand's role to group publisher of fashion and beauty publications, while Maclean's publisher Penny Hicks became group publisher of women's service magazines.
Former Cosmetics publisher Jim Hicks shifted his role at the magazine to executive director, and former Today's Parent publisher Rosemary Munroe transitioned to senior director of partnerships and new business for the entire magazine portfolio. Tara Tucker, previously publisher of Chatelaine, is no longer with the company.
