New name and design
Canada's oldest continuously published magazine is new again. With fully redesigned and renamed Broadview magazine . Broadview, formerly known as The United Church Observer, brings a progressive Christian lens to spirituality, ethical living and social justice stories, while continuing to deliver news and views about The United Church of Canada. This is the fourth name in the magazine's 190-year history. Broadview has been launched with the publication's May 2019 issue.

With roots dating back to 1829, Broadview's predecessor titles have won international acclaim for journalistic excellence, garnering more writing awards than any other Canadian religious publication. It is the oldest continuously published magazine in North America and the second oldest in the English-speaking world. Although it maintains an affiliation with The United Church of Canada, it is editorially independent and separately incorporated.
