New appointments announced for TVA Publications
TVA Publications have announced several key appointments in its organization:

 
Christopher Purcell, vice president marketing and circulation and general manager, Toronto

As general manager, Purcell will oversee all business operations in Toronto. He will work with the group publisher, collaborate with staff and supervise the strategic development plan for circulation and subscriptions. As vice president marketing and circulation, Purcell will be responsible for the circulation strategy and consumer marketing for 27 French and English language print and digital magazines that include Canadian Living, Coup de Pouce, Elle Canada, Style at Home and Chez Soi.

Before TVA, Purcell was head of consumer marketing for TC Media for eight years. In that position he led the creation of TC Media’s magazine tablet initiative with Apple’s newsstand. He has also held circulation roles with BusinessWeek magazine’s Global Marketing Director in New York and circulation manager for Inc. magazine in Boston. Purcell is a member of several Magazines Canada Association media committees and sits on the Alliance for Audited Media’s Canadian Digital Advisory Committee.

 
Sandra E. Martin, Group Publisher

Sandra E. Martin joined Canadian Living last November as its editor-in-chief. Now, she takes on the role of group publisher in charge of content strategy for all English TVA brands including Canadian Living, Elle Canada, Style at Home, Canadian Gardening and The Hockey News. Martin will also be in charge of content management and brand image, as well as expanding TVAs titles on a multi-platform basis while supporting all sales activities.

Prior to Canadian Living, Martin was a key contributor to the development and launch of Walmart Live Better and Vivre mieux Walmart. Martin is a two-time National Magazine Awards finalist and served in senior editorial roles at Today’s Parent and MoneySense magazines, as well as the National Post. Martin will continue on in her role as editor-in-chief of Canadian Living until a replacement is found.

 
Sarah Châtelain, director of marketing, communications and events, Toronto and Montréal

Sarah Châtelain will lead all strategic marketing operations for TVA Publications' brand family throughout Canada. She will work closely with Toronto’s director of marketing Silvana Sciortino in the strategic deployment of TVAs bands, be in charge of publicity, sponsorship and events. Châtelain will also work with circulation, sales and content teams in the development of programs to grow and enhance profitability.

Châtelain has been part of the TVA Publications marketing team for five years and was appointed as Marketing Director in 2014. A specialist in publishing and marketing, Châtelain, along with her team ensures the visibility of TVA brands in the Canadian market. Her peers in the employees recognition program appointed her Entrepreneurship Ambassador in 2014.


All three TVA staff will be active members in the management committee under the purview of Lucie Dumas, TVA vice president group publisher, magazine division.
