The launch coincides with National Dance Week, presented by the Canadian Dance Assembly and running from April 22-29. "We invite professionals, practitioners, dance students and fans to visit throughout the week and learn something new about dance in your country," said executive director Megan Andrews in a release.

Andrews is also publisher and founding editor, and Kathleen Smith is editor. The site was developed by Toronto's Razorbraille Creative with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The print magazine, launched in 1998, releases six issues a year.
