Magazine editor Linda Lewis dies

Linda Lewis, editor of the Canadian version of More magazine until its shuttering late last year, passed away on Monday as a result of leukemia. She was 52.

Prior to kickstarting More at TC Media, Lewis worked at Roger's Today's Parent, which she joined as managing editor in 1993 before being promoted to editor-in-chief in 1998. She started at More, a national title aimed at women 40-plus, in August 2007.

Lewis was diagnosed with leukemia last fall. Shortly thereafter, More was shut down due to struggles with advertising sales. Lewis continued to connect with her audience through her @LindaOnLeukemia account on Twitter, where she shared her thoughts and wit and opened up about her experiences undergoing treatment.

Linda is survived by her children Casey and Nikki, her mother Judy Wolfe, her sister Leora and brother Ron, and her partner Tim Pennock. Donations can be made to Princess Margaret Hospital's leukemia or cervical cancer research funds at 416-946-6560.
