David Chestnut has purchased Hardlines from Founder and President Michael McLarney, assuming the role of President. Chestnut was previously a VP, publisher, and business partner. Hardlines.ca serves the information, research, and networking needs of retailers, store managers, head offices, suppliers, and pro dealers across the retail home-improvement sector via online newsletters and two printed trade magazines – plus detailed research and events, including the Hardlines Conference every October. McLarney launched Hardlines 30 years ago, building it from a weekly fax newsletter into a multi-platform information provider.
Chestnut joined Hardlines in 2016 in a senior sales leadership role and has been a key driver of the company’s growth. He’s been instrumental in expanding advertising revenues and forging strategic partnerships with key industry organizations across the vendor and retail sectors. As President, Chestnut will continue advancing Hardlines’ position as a primary news and intelligence source for the retail home-improvement industry.
