The 2014 Alberta Magazine Awards are open for entries and nominations. Early-bird entries are due Dec. 2, $35 per entry; submissions after that are $40 each and final deadline is Dec. 16.

The awards are open to members of the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA). The only two categories open to non-members are Emerging Writer (Showcase Award) and Best New Magazine (Achievement Award).

This year features three new fields: Photograph (Landscape, Still Life and Architecture), Photograph (People and Portraiture), and Magazine of the Year.

Awards will be presented at a gala dinner opening the Alberta Magazines Conference on March 20, 2014, hosted in Calgary at the Carriage House Inn.
