David Cadogan
 David Cadogan, a former columnist, community newspaper publisher and civic leader, passed away April 5, 2026, at the age of 83 in his hometown of Miramichi, New Brunswick. Cadogan, who helped found and lead the Atlantic Community Newspapers Association (ACNA) and the Canadian Community Newspaper Association (CCNA), was a driving force for local journalism, an admired community leader and volunteer, and past president and honorary life member of both the CCNA and ACNA.
Born on August 3, 1942, in Woodstock, Ontario, he started working as a printer’s apprentice at the age of eight. He went on to build Cadogan Publishing, a hugely successful community newspaper publishing company that included the Woodstock Bugle, The Miramichi Leader/Weekend, Dalhousie News, Miramichi Headwaters, King’s County Record, and the Miramichi Web Printing Company.
