Curbed
, dubbed "the granddaddy of all real estate blogs" by Forbes magazine, is targeting September for its Canada debut with city sites for Toronto and Vancouver.

Launched by Gawker alum Lockhart Steele, Curbed's real estate content runs the gamut from city history to celebrity homes. Also planning a Canadian launch is Eater, a food-focused member of the Curbed network. For more on the impending invasion, see Monika Warzecha's interview with editorial director Sarah F. Cox at Buzzbuzzhome.

In another instance of Rogers featuring one of its mags on its City television network, the winner of Today's Parent's Cover Contest was unveiled on an episode of Cityline. The winner among 10,000 kids will appear on the September issue, on newsstands August 19.

Calgary's Arbour Lake won Avenue magazine's fourth annual best neighbourhoods survey. To celebrate, Avenue is throwing an open block party this Saturday, August 17 at the lake, which is normally open only to community residents.

LouLou's 2013 Shop 'Til You Drop event starts touring select malls in September. Consumers/readers will have access to fashion presentations by LouLou experts, retailer discounts, gifts and more.
